The Color Box v2 has the same functionality as the v1 with lots of improvements like extended EQ settings, a Hi / Lo switch for big clean dynamics and the ability to phantom your condenser mics. The most important improvements are: • Addition of an output transformer • 48v phantom power • Shift settings for precise control of the equalization • Hi / Lo selector for a big dynamic in clear sound • 100% clear signal even on guitar acoustic • Silent activation • Standard 9 Volts DC power supply The gain section in red has 3 settings including Pre-Vol which controls the amount of gain between the 2 internal gain stages. It acts like a Drive or Gain control adding more bite, distortion, and even fuzz as you increase the gain. The 5-position Step switch increases the gain by + 18dB, + 23dB, + 28dB, + 33dB or + 39dB. The Color Box v2 has a new Hi / Lo selector which controls the amount of clean dynamics available. In Lo mode, you'll easily get ultra-clear sounds with no saturation, great for fine-tuning the sound when distortion isn't needed. In Hi mode, the Color Box v2 will more easily saturate to give a wide spectrum of overdrive, distortion and fuzz sounds. A -20dB switch on the right side, which works with the XLR input, can help reduce the volume for high output mics. The EQ section in blue has 3 new Shift settings corresponding to its standard Treble, Middle and Bass settings. The Shift settings adjust the frequency range controlled by the top Treble, Middle, and Bass settings. The center frequency of the Shift settings are Treble 10KHz, Middle 1KHz, Bass 120Hz. Frequencies controlled by the Shift settings: • Treble: 1kHz to 15kHz with +/- 15dB • Middle: 160Hz to 2.5kHz with +/- 10dB • Bass: 20Hz to 400Hz with +/- 15dB The Hi Pass section (high pass) is activated via the selector located under the setting of the same name and goes from 60Hz to 800Hz with a slope of 6dB per octave. The Color Box v2 has a combination of jack and XLR inputs for using an instrument or microphone. Choose your input with the INST / XLR input selector located on the right side.
